Alright, so hello again. I'm so tired right now. But I can't complain too much. K had to get up and go to work this morning, so...
One of the great things about doing this type of work is the FOOD! They definitely don't skimp (sp?) on that. For breakfast they served breakfast burritos, croissants with egg, cheese and sausage, pancakes and bagels (also with egg, cheese and sausage - mcmuffin style). Fruit was ALWAYS made available, along with coffee, juice, soda, hot chocolate. Then if you work 6 hours (which we DEF did - 14 to be exact!) you get dinner...we got roasted garlic chicken, rolls, baked potatoes, broccoli, salad, fruit, two kinds of cheesecake (of which I did NOT partake, and anyone who knows me knows why I did not). :-) And wherever you are, there are always snacks to be had.
Anyway, One of the actor's name is Jeremy Renner. In the airport scene, where he's getting out of the car toward the end of the movie, I walk past the camera. I stop to let him cross in front of me, then I continue on my way (a passenger walking outside the airport). Another scene I did was dressed in a blue jump suit (ground crew for WESTERNBLUE AIRLINES) attending a surprise going away party for "Tina" . (Flight attendant retiring after 12 years, I believe) Hopefully I'll be visible there, too. Oh, and the scene where they're pulling up to the airport, watch for a guy (ME) pushing another guy in a wheelchair...
So I've been in 4 scenes so far, and supposed to do 2 more days next week, so at least I know that ALL my scenes won't end up on the cutting room floor.
Oh and this film is about a salesman and an inventor. It's a rags to riches story about these people who I guess invent the talking bottle opener (actual product) and it becomes a world-wide phenomenon. I don't know if this is THEIR story, but who's else could it be?
They were filming a gamblers anonymous scene also last night so I take it one of the actors has a gambling problem...
Anyway, I'll keep you updated about all the latest news about "Snappers." Next week we're filming at the convention center and some other building downtown. **UPDATE: Snappers is now on IMDB.
A list of actors (who I know about) in this film: And let me just say that I think it's really good that I had NO IDEA who exactly these people were when we were on set together...I mean, I had never heard of them...as far as I was concerned, they were just local actors doing this low-budge cheesy film...BOY WAS I WRONG. And I guess it's good that you don't know who someone is, that way you don't walk around all "star-struck" and goofy. Better to find out later and be like, 'hey, cool, I had no idea.' I certainly have a different opionion now about this movie and it's "stars". I put the word "stars" in quotes because I, nor any actor you talk to, considers him/her self to be a "star". We're just normal people who lead "normal" lives...well, some of us more normal than others... :)

Yeah, so...call time was 11a.m. at the airport this morning, or should I say YESTERDAY morning. It is now 1:49a.m. the NEXT morning and I'm just getting home to go to sleep.

That's a wrap!
So call time was 11a.m. They took us into the "holding area" at 12:15 for about 15 minutes then we got to go out to the tables...there were about 25 of us...3 -5 people at each table...I got to sit next to a guy who chain smoked for 4 hours straight and did nothing but cuss and try his damndest to get in front of the camera...I hate a fucker who is there JUST to be in a movie...
The dealer gave us a quick run down on how the game is played (they had to come in on their day off and be in this movie - and they were not very happy about it, let me tell you.)
I had no idea it was so easy - and fun! I was always too afraid to go play at the tables...but it's really no big deal...just don't expect to win any money!
Anyway, I and 3 others got to sit at the table with the 2 of the lead actors (Jeremy and Marguerite) while they filmed the final scene. (The guy mentioned above was pissed that it wasn't HIM). Pretty exciting stuff! Hopefully I'll make it onto the screen. I also got to walk past the table a few times so I'm bound to be in there somewhere! :-) (during the casino scene(s), look for the guy in the green shirt...THAT'S ME!)
A good time was had by all. They wrapped at about 4:15, paid us cash and sent us home.
Tomorrow they're filming at the airport...that should be interesting.
Peace.

So my fellow movie-goers...Hollywood is here, currently filming a movie called "SNAPPERS", although that's ALL I know about the film. The casting agent called me a few days ago to offer me the position of STAND-IN for Richard Kind. I'm WAY excited! I actually get to mingle with the "stars". So I met with her yesterday (the casting agent) and I'll be doing the stand-in work April 1,2,3 and a casino scene on March 27th and an airplane "LAX" scene on the 28th. The pay is great and I'M TOTALLY STOKED! =)
I'll keep you updated on the latest Hollywood gossip.
Peace out.

I DIG the Chicks!
I hate a hypocrite! After The Dixie Chicks made that anti-Bush comment (2003), the industry shunned them, fans burned their cd's and even went as far as sending death threats...
Ah, but fast forward 4 years to the Grammy Awards...The Chicks won all 5 awards for which they were nominated - including album (Taking the Long Way) and song of the year (Not Ready To Make Nice). On the top 20 chart, they went from number 72 to number 8. Two weeks ago, their then-moribund album moved 6,000 copies; after the five-award sweep, it sold 103,000!
It just goes to show that you should never be afraid to speak your mind, cause chances are, people will agree with you...they're just too chicken shit to say it themselves!
Way to make a come-back!
